What is active listening?
Think about how much information you get every day from your boss, colleagues, friends and family may communicate with you often?
How much of these people say, you pay attention to. How much of you are remembering actually from these conversations?
"Chances are you are forgetting most of it"
Active listening is when you make conscious efforts to hear and understand people so that you understand the message completely.
Things you can do to become an active listener  -
1) Pay attention
2) Ignore other sounds and conversations
3) Put your own thoughts on hold. Resist the plan to think what you are going to say in return
4) Show it that you are listening to the person by nodding your head, say yes and smile.
5) Provide feedback- Paraphrase it, ask questions
6) Don't interrupt when a person is speaking.
